Gospel Music on Satellite Radio or the Gospel Music Played through your Cable TV service in my opinion does not reflect full expression,of all Christians.
The Worship aspect of this music truly glorifies our King Jesus, and he who is certainly not against Jesus is for Christ. But hearing Praise the Lord song after repetitive song from the same Gospel artists, I hear little to No testimony,No genre or real artist variety, No true Anointing, so therefore there is No true Conviction for the Sinner. Many of the lost need to hear a treal message right where they are!
We as Christ driven artists put so much time, pride, energy and money into making our sound, Digital. We carefully listen during the creative process, to be sure that our Flows or Singing runs sound tight, with clever word play. Our Video’s are filmed with awesome transitions, effects, colorful lighting and must be in Full HD. In my opinion once again, we have become so caught up in appealing to mankind, that many of us artists have clearly forgotten that it’s GOSPEL before it’s music, It is Holy before it’s Hip Hop, It is TRUTH before Music, It’s Christian before Music and It is Ministry before Music.
Inside todays “Artist competition” with the World’s music, we have gotten too caught up in the digital age and have forgotten about the Message. It’s the anointing that breaks the yoke! How did you meet Jesus? What did you go through to get to Jesus? The music should not be about how clever our flows, beats or videos are. I believe one of the reasons Gospel Rap has not been majorly successful is because the Passion for Christ in many simply is not or never was there. Many of us have been seeking Man’s “LIKE” within Social Media and this makes the Joyful Noise unto God about self(Fleshly)
I have seen many fall to the wayside in Ministry, and in the coming times many more will fall off. I encourage each of you to continue on your path to righteousness through intimate relationship with Jesus.
I also encourage all Gospel artists to keep “the message” relevant to these Global Spiritually Turbulent times…The Harvest is Plentiful, but the LABORERS are few!
