WE ALL NEED TO LOSE “WEIGHT”

January 20th, 2011 | By QGODFEAR

I woke up this morning….Praise God for that: ) I began praying as I closed my garage behind me while vowing in my heart to not be repetitive in my prayers(asking God for the same stuff over and over). I began praying for those around me, my children, my family, then moved on to praying for myself. First thing I prayed for myself was for God to use me more ,for folks to hear his power and glory through my music ministry & For me to be bolder in my walk with Christ. I then asked God to lose some weight ; ) and to help me with my eating habits. That took on a whole different twist as God moved me away from the physical aspect of losing “weight”.

I began praying to lose the weight of negativity, the weight of uncertainty, the weight of what others think, the weight of carnal thinking, the weight of rage and hurt from past relationships, the weight of sadness, the weight of occasional coldness towards others, the weight of hate, the weight of my inner most ungodly desires, the weight of worry about my job, the weight of monetary issues…..

I continued on and on and realized I personally am carrying a lot of “WEIGHT” physically, but much more Spiritually. It also manifested inside my spirit that GOD is more concerned with the outer “Weight” we all carry as this is the weight of life that truly keeps our spirits from the true worship intimacy that GOD desires from us!

As Erykah Badu simply put in her song “Bag Lady”

“Bag lady you gone hurt your back
Dragging all them bags like that
I guess nobody ever told you
All you must hold on to
Is you, is you, is you

One day all them bags gone get in your way
One day all them bags gone get in your way
I said one day all them bags gone get in your way
One Day all them bags gone get in your way”

A scripture amongst many I find myself not obedient in is

Psalm 55:22 – Cast your cares(burdens)on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.

On today I pray that WE ALL begin to break the chains connected to the “Bags” that WE ALL carry! And as the spirit of the Lord says in

Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through Christ Jesus whom strengthens me

Matthew 23:12 – “He who humbles himself will be exalted, he who exalts himself will be humbled”

Have a Blessed Day!
